Panama is one of the most isolated villages in Sri Lanka. For about thirty years, it was barely reachable due to the Sri Lankan Civil War. Therefore, the region has maintained its authenticity, and the villagers have kept their old traditional life styles in this rural area. They live in harmony with the nature that surrounds them and humans and animals are in continuous interaction. Panama is a marvellous place with an authentic feel to it, and it is a place where humans and nature meet.

Wild Edge Panama lies at the border of Kumana National Park. The resort is surrounded by sand dunes, who give away the close presence of the sea and the neighbouring lagoon. Located at the ‘Edge of the World’, it is the final destination for a variety of animals and migrating birds. Sri Lanka is the last point reachable for animals travelling from north to south, with beyond that, only the ocean.
